3 Good Things
Feb 07
no doubt, it’s been a fairly crappy week around these parts so when i saw a 3 GOOD THINGS series, over on IROCKSOWHAT i sorta thought…this is for me. it’s a good reminder that even when things feel craptastic – there’s some good in there. here are mine:
1. i’ve been a crocheting fool. a large group of crocheting mamas came over on sunday and i was able to finish up the baby blanket i’ve been working on. i’m not gonna lie – i’m totally impressed by myself
. i love the yarn – it’s super soft and hand dyed and while i can’t wait to send the gift along, it’s going to be hard to say goodbye. i’m currently working on a few small projects for upcoming birthdays and then i’ll be ready to take on my next.big.thing. stay tuned.
2. ABN and i watched season 1 of the wire in the same way that we watched FNL. it was supposed to be our date night – you know with sushi and red wine, or more recently, some paleo friendly home-cooked meal. but the wire wasn’t really doing it for us. the wire requires an attention that the a half a bottle of wine cannot sustain and ABN kept getting movie theater sweaty – it’s a thing. so we decided that together we would move on to something new (suggestions?) but i decided that i could continue on with the wire on my own. and i’m so glad that i did! i’m only two episodes into season 2 and i’m already hooked. in a world in which my dvr is currently filled with general hospital, the latest episode of the bachelor and bunheads – the wire is what was missing from my life.
3. my cute kid. i mean even when she’s pale from a night of puking she’s still beyond adorable. we spent most of yesterday cuddling on the couch – watching tangled and talking about the “bad mommy” and the horse, maximus. she tends to get a little “stuck” on certain subjects so she also mentioned half a million times that she “needs haircut,” “loves the count,” and “wants to ride a horse tomorrow.” got it.
i don’t know about you but i’m all of a sudden feeling way better. thanks again, JESS, for making this all happen!
