i was so excited to come home yesterday to find a package hand addressed to me!  don’t get me wrong, i love the almost-instant gratification of amazon just like everyone but there is nothing as fun as a package from a real, live, person.  and that’s just what i found waiting for me on my front stoop.  perfect way to start off the week.

as i mentioned a couple of weeks ago, i was matched up with JEN through kimberly’s awesome blogger book swap.  it combines basically everything i love – bloggers and books (too bad there wasn’t red wine…next time).  basically jen and i were destined to be friends.  she likes wine and big hair and i’ve fallen in love with her blog which has a new feature: That’s What She Said Book Round Up where she profiles the books that have made the “news” of late (meaning they were featured in people, entertainment weekly, oprah…you get it.  you love it).  you can read this weeks list here, as well as a get peak at what i sent jen.

like i said, jen gets me.  and i jumped up and down when i opened my package.

yep, my favorite book of 2012 which i did not have a copy of (SCORE!!) and a beautifully handwritten card.  plus an owl book mark.  jen’s the best…duh.

      it is SO funny – i’ve already started reading it again. and now, that i have my own copy – i’m highlighting my favorite passages. there is a section about putting on shoes that i had to read out loud to ABN last night!
