Dig, Dream, Drool

Aug 03

we are all feeling ready for the weekend.  it’s been a less than stellar week around these parts (i think we’re all still missing having DBN around) and while we’re finally back to being healthy, we’re not quite back to our routine.  the weekend will be a time to slow down, organize the house, hopefully spend some time outside and have a much needed sushi date and a netflix date night.

but before we get to the weekend, let’s wrap this week up with a bow…here’s what’s been keeping me sane:

clearly, my VERY FAVORITE OLYMPIC MOMENT – i know these parents

also, as part of my nightly olympics viewing party of one, i’ve been catching many more commercials than usual – thank god, because otherwise i may have never seen THIS GEM

have you heard of THE SKIMM?  it’s basically a briefing on the news of the day, in a style that is easily accessible.  i’ve all but given up on THE TODAY SHOW – and so far EBN has decided to love NPR the same way her mama does, so my options for news are limited at the moment.  here’s a sample of A RECENT POST.  i just signed up so maybe i’ll give you a status report in a couple of weeks.

WEDGES?  yes please!

right after you have a baby, the whole DEFINITION OF CRAZY changes

we ate THIS for dinner last night – with kale right out of our garden

watching EMPTY NEST was my favorite saturday night activity in the early ’90s

i would like the BLUE ONE, please for EBN’s big girl room

and finally i was stupid-excited to see that CAMP BEVERLY HILLS is alive and well.  who knew? sometimes it’s the little things… via LOVE MAEGAN

peace out!

I am a fan of the Daily Beast daily emails (I think I’ve opted for 2 per day) for my daily news when I can’t read the NYTimes or other online sources. And who didn’t love Empty Nest?
