My Kid Says Tattoo

Jun 13

about a week ago, i went in to get EBN after her nap.  i found her standing in her crib, babbling to coco.  when i walked in she reached for me and said the word clear as day, “tattoooooooooooooo.”

“did you just say tag-team, honey?”.  on a recent drive home from getting our hairs did MBN and i giggled with delight as EBN repeated our self-assigned childcare mantra over and over.

rather than championing my child-caring skills, EBN grabbed my left arm, flipped my wrist so it pointed towards the sky and pointed to the script that dances up my fore-arm – “TAAAAAAAAATOOOOOOOOO” she announced again.

got it.

it’s now her favorite word.  she repeats it endlessly – to herself, elmo, muno and any real human who will listen.  you can imagine that ABN and my parents are equally thrilled with this latest development.

it should be noted that around the same time she also started saying honey.  i would have sworn to you that i never call her honey – but after re-reading the above dialogue i realize, i do.

and because i know you have been wondering – she’s still dancing – even while on a morning “hike”:

I’m afraid you’re going to think I’m a stalker bc I have been commenting on each post, but I suppose that’s why you blog… :) Anyway, I just really feel like I can relate to your blog, even tho I live in Indiana. My daughter A has started mimicking everything we say, but my favorite is “ngoatble” which translated is “non-negotiable” (we have non-negotiable things: diapers, carseat, etc). I keep telling my husband very soon she is going to start mimicking the F-bomb he slips up and drops. That will be fun…

    I just realized I must say non-negotiable a lot…. :)
