Mama Gone Wild
Mar 15
it is raining cats and dogs here. it’s crazy because the rest of the country, from what i see on the today show, seems to be welcoming spring and we, here in the bay area, are just saturated (and it seems this trend will continue for the next several days). on the one hand, the rain forces one to slow down. nothing sounds better than staying in pajamas all day, sipping tea, giving EBN her first tastes of CHILI, crocheting on the couch. but let’s be honest. that is not what life looks like. instead, i’m struggling to get work done while the baby takes a nap or while she’s with the babysitter, buried under mountains of laundry and still need to go grocery shopping – our cupboards are bare. even with howling wind and driving rain, life continues along…
this weekend i was lucky enough to steal a couple of days and very little sleep and trot off to atlanta to celebrate one of my favorite san fransicans as a blushing bride. you may not all know that when we first landed in SF i worked at a community center (after a brief stint in retail) as a program manager and my first responsibility was to hire a staff. so i did what any girl in new city would do – i hired people that i was sure would become my closest friends. and while the job wasn’t right, the friendships were. the whole group of us partied like rockstars in the ATL.

waiting for my red-eye followed by an early morning manicure and dunkins, biscuits and boutiques, allagash white in print and on tap, guiness is good and statues are scary, pretty girls and public transportation, a swing and a couple of wonderful pillows, a collection of golden books and a gingie beard that suits me fine, every hospitality suite needs a beer fridge and a blushing groom, all dressed up (and in platform heels!) and a good reminder that my love of frummies has no end.
