Going AWOL

later today i’m heading to LA for 24 hours for work.  there is a holiday party tonight and an important meeting friday morning.

it’s only my second night away from the wee-one…ever.  it’s ABN’s first night alone with the wee-one…ever.  i’ve made many lists and prepared all her meals, clearly labeled and in the proper order, in the refrigerator.  i’ve stocked the diaper bag and put an extra blanket in her stroller.  i’ll let ABN pick out her clothes.

for the first time in my life, i’m looking forward to my flight.  i plan to read the latest issue of people magazine, listen to music and sip an overpriced cocktail.

and after 5 minutes of that i’ll be counting down the seconds until i get back on a plane friday afternoon, fly home and squeeze my little girl.
